Casa tra gli ulivi

La casa tra gli ulivi è un intervento di adeguamento e ampliamento di una struttura incompiuta. Il piano interrato esistente impone vincoli strutturali e definisce la sagoma dell’edificio. La nuova architettura si poggia sull’esistente e costruisce una relazione con l’uliveto caratteristico della provincia rurale trapanese. Il tema delle aperture quadrate - disposte tenendo conto delle funzioni interne e del contesto adiacente ma anche dell’irraggiamento solare - guida l’intero progetto portando la luce anche nella zona più interne, mediante lucernari.

Trapani, Sicily, 2019-23

The house among the olive trees is an intervention of adaptation and extension of an unfinished structure. The existing basement imposes structural constraints and defines the shape of the building. The new architecture rests on the existing one and builds a relationship with the characteristic olive grove of the rural province of Trapani. The theme of the square openings - arranged taking into account the internal functions and the adjacent context but also the solar radiation - guides the entire project bringing the light even in the innermost area, through skylights.
